11:11 is the impetus for a week-long train of thought and making. Twice daily for five days, 11 participants from the graphic design department will submit an entry to the show. These submissions will be installed at 11:11am and 11:11pm in the GD gallery from November 10th-15th.

When we start paying attention to something, it reveals itself everywhere. Has it been there all along, and we’re only just now noticing? This phenomenon is known as the frequency illusion: the happening upon an obscure piece of information that encounters the same subject again, often and repeatedly.

11:11 is about symmetry and geometry; repetition and mirroring; chance and circumstance; luck and randomness. By forcing ourselves to attend to the formation of one thought twice a day for a week, we created together a body of work that reflects this plethora of meaning.
